15:19 back. Thank you so much, PP. You are absolutely right: mine ended up just being the "look and see one" in the office. And I was relieved to hear that all was fine and I did not need to go further and have a "remove stuff" one in the hospital. And I concur that Marfori herself, once I got to her, was wonderful. I just wish her front staff had been as helpful. Eesh. I know I am probably "on their list," but just getting info out of them was like pulling teeth. They were. . .NOT. . .helpful. But that has been my experience with support staff at GW MFA all along. UGH. The docs at GW MFA seriously need to look at their support staff and do a clean sweep. Esp. for those of us undergoing infertility? Stress is supposed to be a factor? Well, their support staff adds at least 50% to my stress levels on those unlucky days I have to hike it on in there to GW. Anyway, thank you for your kind input.

Dr. John Marlow in Friendship Heights. He operates out of Sibley. He came highly recommended to me by Dr. Sharara at VCRM. He has decades of experience and was great when I met with him for a consultation.

x1000. I had a laparscopy with Marfori earlier this year - she is one of the best doctors I have ever seen. I highly recommend her.

I am having a hysteroscopy at GW (w/ Marfori) on Monday, but I have gotten ZERO instructions on what to do. Do I eat or not eat ahead of time? I see on here that I'll be under anesthesia, so, I assume, no eating? And I also never knew I need somoene to drive me home? Why oh why the F do the doctor's offices tell us NOTHING literally NOTHING like this ahead of time. Is there anything else I need to be aware of? Thanks, ladies, if you can help me b/c like I said I am getting ZIPPO from them!!!! This makes me REALLY REALLY TICKED OFF!

18:14 PP here. You won't be able to drive yourself home afterward since you'll be under anesthesia. I took a cab, which you're also not supposed to do. They were running very ahead of schedule so finished way too early for my ride. The doctor approved it but the nurses still questioned it when it was time for me to go. In the end, they called me a cab and it all worked out but I don't know that I'd count on that. If you schedule it in the afternoon, with recovery and everything, you will be ready to go close to the end of a typical business day. As an aside, I took public transportation there (so I wouldn't have a car there), which was sort of an adventure, but doable. Good luck with whatever you decide. This is so much easier than the myomectomy!

18:14 PP: thanks so much. I am in VA also. Were you allowed to drive home yourself or someone has to drive you home? Reason I ask is because my husband's work schedule is hard for him to take time off, so I wanted to know if I can have the procedure and drive myself home.

16:08 PP here. Isn't that a great practice? I went to Holy Cross for the myomectomy, but he did the hysteroscopy at Mass Ave Surgery Center in Bethesda (fwiw, I'm in VA). I was in and out in an afternoon.

I used Dr. Barter of Women's Health Specialists for my open myomectomy and then later an operative hysteroscopy for polyp removal. I think he is fantastic in all respects. My RE was also out of state, and Dr. Barter's office was great about sending records, etc.

I recently had a SIS at Washington Radiology and was told that I have some thing like "strands" at the bottom half of my uterus. I just had open myomectomy a few months ago,but the fibroid was outside of the lower half of the uterus. Not sure if these "strands" are adhesion. I am waiting for my RE to review the test result and let me know what to do. I am pro-actively looking for a a local doctor to do hysteroscopy to remove adhesion should my RE tells me to have it done. By the way my RE is out of state. I don't want to use SG for this procedure. Thanks in advance for any recommendations.
