Also check the after school activities -- our base Middle School in LCPS has no STEM clubs at all, and my DC is not happy about that.

The GT program in Loudon county does not even compare to the one in Fairfax County. The "Futura" program requires that kids are bussed to a different school one day a week for enrichment, and the kids still have to make up the work they missed in their regular classes.

We moved to Fairfax from Loudon after K, but while we were there I was honestly not sure I would even let my dd participate if she was chosen for Futura.

DD is 5th grade and has been enrolled at Fairfax County's GT/AAP program since 3rd grade. We've been extremely happy with the program. We are thinking of moving to Loudoun County, where we could afford a bigger house, to accommodate DD future siblings (we are expecting twins this summer). I've read many positive articles about Loudoun schools----how they are newer, but aren't that different from FFX Public Schools. But I haven't seen much comparison data/articles about their GT programs with that of FFX. How is the GT Program at Loudoun County?
