It's definitely possible, and actually quite easy. I've done it in Arlington 3 times. 1/2 the time we paid 3%. You could always use one of the services that puts it in MLS. It's worth a shot for a few weeks.

Check out the young house love blog. They sold their house themselves and have some great advice. For a house that will likely sell quickly and shows well no need to waste money on a realtor.

I think you could totally sell in Arlington without an agent. Just be prepared to offer 3% to a buyer's agent because a lot of buyers have them. Also, think about how you're going to manage showings - unless you get a lockbox, someone will have to be home for showings. (I'd recommend a lockbox with a key inside, and realtors have to call first to get the code.)

Or you could just call the folks who've contacted you, initiate a bidding war, and get a good real estate attorney.

We are planning to put our N. Arlington house on the market soon. Inventory is very low in our area and houses have been selling pretty quickly in the past few months.

Our house has a lot of curb appeal, is a few blocks from a partk, good schools etc.

We were thinking about maybe not using a realtor initially (we've had a few letters come to our house in the past year from folks who want to move into the neighborhood and were asking if we'd consider selling our house to them).

Are we crazy to think about no agent? Do you think its possible to sell in arlington w/o an agent?
