we are waitlisted for our first choice school are are considering giving up the acceptance we do have because we don't want to waste the $2800.

We gave up a 3k deposit bc we had to re-up at current school before we found out DC got into preferred school. Painful.

Our deposit is 1/10 of tuition plus 1/10 of before and aftercare (if elected).

I just read in another thread that the enrollment deposit is $3,000. Which school(s) have a deposit that's so steep? Our deposit is $1,000. I would guess that the higher the deposit, the less likely there will later be waitlist movement. I could see someone giving up a $1,000 deposit, but would think that it would be unusual for someone to give up a $3,000 deposit.
