The Rec is also open on many days when the schools are closed, and takes the kids early when there is early dismissal.

Creative, Campagna and Rec seem to be the most popular -- a few kids go to the Y but it requires getting on the Y bus. Creative is a block away, and Campagna and Rec are both in the building. All three programs are good -- when we were looking at aftercare, I leaned toward Creative because it is open on days the school isn't -- so for snow days, it is a great option. The Rec program is *much* less expensive (as I recall, it is practically free), so there are some kids who use it for just an hour or so after school and get picked up at 4 pm (I know at least one teacher who puts her kids in Rec to get that extra hour after school). All three programs play outside on the playground after school, so they all mingle. It is nice to have options. I know that Creative fills up very quickly so you might get on the list now if you are considering it.

i'm looking for feedback on Mount Vernon Community School in Alexandria aftercare options. What do people think of Creative Play and Campagna? I know the Rec Center and the Y also offers aftercare, but I haven't heard any recommendations on those programs. My son will be starting school in the fall.
