That teaism has a koi pond in the basement which my kid always liked to visit.

Really? So you feed one year olds crappy food and expect them to develop a wide ranging taste for food when they grow up how?

Even Citronelle has high chairs.
I'm tired of expecting kids to learn how to dine out and then exiling them to lousy restaurants with mediocre food.
It's a one year old, not a ten year old.

Hamilton! Nicer than Old Ebbitt or Clyde's, and very close to the blossoms.

Clyde's is great. We've taken our twins there a few times at different ages and it's fine. It' s a big enough place and they have a good menu.

I would be hesitant to take a toddler to Central--it's definitely a nice restaurant and I'd be worried about disturbing other diners. Maybe the Hamilton would be good? I would definitely feel comfortable taking a kid to Clyde's and I think the Hamilton is similar.

Teaism by Archives/Navy Memorial is a good spot. We've also taken our toddler to Ella's Pizza (9th St.) and Matchbox (H St.) with some success, although you'll want to make sure that Matchbox isn't too crowded. I'm blanking on good spots further east--I feel like there are fewer casual spots closer to the White House or Foggy Bottom.

where would be a good restaurant to take my 13 month old for early dinner after cherry blossoms on friday?
downtown, preferably, and obviously kid-friendly. he's good in restaurants, but he's still 1, you know?
