What do you do differently for a fissure?

There is a point to this. OP needs to get to a doctor to figure out what exactly's going on.

I feel your pain OP. Get a gel pad to sit on at work/car/home etc. Saves a little on the wear and tear. (Pardon the expression.)

I agree with the sitz bath, and then apply cotton balls soaked in witch hazel. Get one of those little plastic tubs that you put on the toilet and sit on to soak. But also get them checked out again. For me, it turned out that I did have an anal fissure which needs to be treated differently.

Sniping away from behind anonymity again. You aren't worth my time.

A good old fashioned sitz bath mght help. Alternatively, dip your poor heiny in a shallow bath that is as hot as you can stand it. The heat helps open things up and gets the blood flowing out of those suckers a little better.

Preparation H is also your friend. Don't be shy when you go to buy it. Or just pretend you're on the phone with your partner when you're at the counter and say, "Honey, I got your Preparation H." Lol.

I did about a year ago and will go again soon to revisit this (so hard to find time for my own doctor appointments when I have one every two weeks for my children). I was just hoping to find out if any DCUM readers have discovered any successful regimes that I could talk to my doc about.

Have you seen a doctor?

Got through baby #1 with very little problem...baby #2, besides being adorable and lovely has left me with a serious case of hemorrhoids that 2 1/2 years later are still a problem, and becoming more so. Any tips out there on dealing with these terrible little suckers? Am I doomed to have poo streaked undies forever? I recently started using damp toilet wipes which helps but makes me feel like I've officially hit old age. Any treatment recommendations? Thank God for anonymous message boards! My pooper thanks you.
