Not sure about the Target version but Dreft has a lot of scent in it. My kids have sensitive skin and eczema and the ped specifically warned against Dreft because it causes so many reactions due to the perfume in it.

We tried a couple of different detergents and 7th Generation definitely worked best for us. Also, FYI, it is fragrance/dye free, not just unscented, which makes a big difference. Some unscented formulas actually use chemical maskers to mask or negate the fragrances. For those allergic to chemical fragrances, they can still cause a reaction. The ones that are fragrance and dye free don't have any fragrances at all, masking or otherwise. My wife is one that has allergic reactions to chemical fragrances so we know the difference.


We also like 7th Gen. We use it for all laundry since none of us like scented detergent.

+3 for Charlie's. I get it from amazon, a tiny tub lasts 80 washes bc you don't use very much - and we use it on everything, not just baby stuff.
i believe the package says something to the effect of "you want flowers? Go pick some, there's none in here"

Second the rec for Charlie's Soap. No fabric softener needed and absolutely no scent. can buy on amazon. I haves used bother liquid and the powder.

Country Save is the best detergent out there. It is the cleanest rinsing and has no synthetic petrochemicals. I thought about making my own to save money, but the Amazon Subscribe & Save deal makes it pretty cheap. And I no longer use any fabric softener, rinse aids, dryer sheets, or anything at all other than CS detergent and their oxygen bleach on occasion.

I thought I had found the one when I bought Green Mountain -- but it's leaving residue on my clothes. Things feel stiff and sticky even if I just use like 1/2 an oz for a full load. I am looking for a clean rinsing laundry detergent that is totally unscented, non-toxic, all natural, etc -- Tide Free and Clear will not cut it. If you can buy it a Giant, Safeway or Shoppers, I probably won't use it.
