I asked the DC BOEE to answer your question and they said: "Votes cast at early voting locations are reported first on Election night, before precinct returns come in."

Thanks, Jeff. That seems logical, but I think a lot of places count the early and absentee ballots later, and in fact, that was the case in a recent recall election in Ward 4. I hope they know what they're talking about, since that should give quicker results.

Does the winner get a Denali? Do we know who is less corrupt?

In case you haven't noticed, check out the blog on the homepage of DCUM. I've written a number of articles (and will be writing more) about the election.

I agree, Vincent Orange has got to go. Someone else on another listserve said it better: He walks around like he has a "for sale" sign around his neck. He lucked into that office, and I am afraid he's going to waltz away with the full-term at-large if people don't mobilize behind Biddle or Shapiro. If they split the vote, there's no hope. I like Shapiro for the office.

Please vote against Vincent Orange, who was "shocked, shocked" to discover he had received numerous campaign contributions in the form of separate money orders, sequentially numbered and many with identical signatures.

Does the clownish corruption on the DC council never end?

Some candidate forums are on YouTube. Start here:

There's an article in the paper today about how DC's primary was moved to April 3 instead of September and it's causing a lot of confusion. It also falls right in the middle of Spring Break for most people, so folks will be out of town. I urge all of you to remember to vote, every DC resident is at least voting for At-Large (the seat held by Vincent Orange) as well as all the "Shadow" seats for Congress. And remember, in DC, since we are so heavily Democrat, whoever wins the primary, usually wins the General Election in November easily. Early voting starts next week so you can do it before you head out of town. With all the At-Large candidates, there's lots to choose from, and I'd like for this to be at least less than a shoe-in for Vincent Orange to coast to another undeserved term.
