I have this table and used the martine side chairs with it in a sand linen with nail heads (Restoration Hardware). Very comfortable and works well. Have 6 chairs and 2 with small arms

Get the damaged chairs repaired. Furniture Medic is good for this type of thing.

That is a pretty table. With the dark wood, I would go with upholstered chairs in a color that matches your dining room. Chairs in a dark wood that matched would make for a room with a lot of dark surfaces. However, if your dining room is big with a lot of natural light you could go that way.

We have the espresso Portman dining table set that we purchased 2 years ago. Most of the dining chairs were damaged in a move and now Restoration Hardware has discontinued the set. I have been unable to find any dining chairs that work with the table. Any suggestions? This was a really expensive set so I would really like to keep it.
