I'm a black woman, but I really don't get the attraction in wearing other people's hair (or fake hair) on your head and wish that trend would disappear.

The location changes. So, last time they came in town they were in an apartment near Pentagon City. I know about the Damn Salon through a friend who has a natural hair care salon. I have friends who have gotten their hair done too.

I am a black woman with a short natural, but I had to look up the Damn Salon. That looks hot. Catchy too.

Do we know what the location of The Damn Salon will be in DC? It looks awesome.

And how do you know about the salon - did you get your hair done there in ATL?

I second The Damn Salon. I am planning on getting city twists when they come to DC. Here is a link to their website:

Yes, I do!!! It is called the Damn Salon. Go to their website and check them out. They will be here in April. They are really good. And your subject heading is hilarious!

There are more of us here than you think. Try Vivanti Hair Studio on Georgia Avenue just over the DC line in Silver Spring. I don't have extensions, but I've seen lots of ladies leave this salon with good results. Ask for the owner, Errol. He can give you the information you need. 301 587-0022

Another black female here. It's been awhile since I had a weave, but Lourane was my hook up. Best part? She'll come out to your place.

You're not alone, sister.

OPH (other Peoples' Hair) questions should be directed to everyone, IMO. White chicks with extensions are, well, usual.

Hi OP,

I'm a black woman (there's more than two of us!!). You don't have to go to a natural hair salon if you're getting extensions...just someone who really knows how to sew them in. Are you bringing in your own hair?

I usually bond in my own pieces ( I use about 3-4 of them for my short style), so I haven't been to a salon in years.

You can either go to a regular hair salon or you can go to a hair braiding place. They will cornrow your hair and sew in the extensions. It's usually cheaper than a salon visit and looks good. The Hair Gallery on Park Road is good.

Sadly, I'm out of the salon game. And most of my friends wear short styles and those stylists don't necessarily know how to do extensions.

I'll see what recs I can get at work tomorrow.

I'm white, but I've been to and really like Salon Revive. I've only been for blowouts, but my black friends have used them for extensions and they are supposedly great.

OP, if you post in the proper forum and use the question itself in the title of your thread, the chances of getting an actual answer will increase exponentially!

I don't know of any, but I seriously doubt there are only two black women on this board. --AA female

Any recs for a good salon that does "natural" hair extensions. I am basically looking to get a full head weave but with kinky instead of straight hair. As much as I hate driving, I am willing to travel outside the beltway to get it done.

Thanks

PS. To to white women (or men) who clicked on this thread please pass along any recs that you may have.
