Op here. This is no war between sah or wah. I just like to cook. If I worked I'd make it happen too. I'd have to or I'd be miserable.

I shop a lot! Shout out to Chevy Chase Market!!! But I also do CostCo and Safeway. I meal plan in as far as I get in my head that I want to make something and it goes on my list to make within the week. I also double up sauces and incorporate leftovers whenever I can turn them into a new dish.

I'm a sahm with kids aged 7, 5, 3, and 5 mo. I make myself "start" dinner at 5 but that doesn't mean I start cooking at 5 but rather I figure out what we are actually having (based on what I have defrosted and what I feel like) and figure out when I shoudl start. I could pull something together in as little as 30 minutes or it can take an hour. We eat at 6:30 or later if it takes longer and I'm running behind for whatever reasons (and there are many).

I make most things from scratch, tasty whole food, very little processed stuff, if it is frozen it is because I made it previously and froze it. I try recipes ALL the time.

NO way. I love to cook. I wish I could do it professionally. I actually have to be careful that it does not keep me from the kids. Before kids, I'd spend an entire Saturday cooking for fun.

Yes! We've been eating salmon with lentils once a week for the last month because my oldest two (7 and 5) love them so much! Look up Barefoot Contessa's "Salmon with Lentils" and omit the salmon for your preference.

Do you have any meatless lentil/bean recipes you like?
