Do you think he worries that I might leave him? I think it goes both ways. We went the legal way and have papers drawn up for the children, the house, life insurance. If he did leave me (or vice versa) my life would not change much. I also would be spared the divorce process and the extreme cost.
One thing we did want to do is have all of our "wants" legally put into writing and made known. We went to a lawyer and had this done. While he could leave me and change his mind, I could do the same to him. It's no different to me than the risk you take when you do get married. You risk your spouse leaving you.
