Baked and Wired in Georgetown

Macarons/cupcakes/cakes -- DC Patisserie hands down. I picked up some of her macarons at Seasonal Pantry then called in an order for cupcakes. Amazing. Very small operation though, I don't think she has a storefront.

Sticky Fingers

For bread and French pastry, Le Caprice on 14th Street in Columbia Heights is great. The kitchen has big windows, so you can watch them baking. It's owned by a nice family who lives in the neighborhood, too. They take special orders... my friend has ordered really good tartes and other pastries for parties.
