Thanks, you were right I was wrong. But it was also wrong to state there were 110 in boundary kids on the waitlist as you initially did. There were 57 accepted, so I assume that means there were 53 on the waitlist.
Hopefully they are planning on 5 K classes next year.

There were not 110 in-boundary kids on the Janney pre-K waitlist last year, perhaps you meant 110 in-bound applicants but I also think that is high. There were 57 slots at the intial lottery this year and last year (as you mention they hold 3 of the 60 slots back for Early Stages kids) and I think there were 30-40 kids on the waitlist. Closer to 30 in my memory but I was not tracking closely as I did not have a child applying but I had neighbors that did. I am sure the correct information is available somewhere.
This year the in-boundary applicant pool is similar to what I remember last year. 85 in boundary applicants (57 acccepted, 28 on waiting list). My guess from years past is that there will be in the low 90s for in-boundary K students in 2013, as some families either are not yet in-boundary or choose not to apply because they want to stay where they are until K.
You're incorrect--there were 105 inboundary applicants for PK last (about 85 the year before and 85 this year but last year was an unusually high year for whatever reason). I may have the exact numbers on my computer.
The school anticipates >100 for K this year---if you use the same PK lottery--->K classmates yield ratio that occurred in the previous 2 years then the 2012 K class will be 120-125. This is what the school is projecting.

Janney is closed to new OOB enrollment for the coming year per DCPS. It's overenrolled at all grade levels.

32 have siblings - assume that all of these will accept (this is obviously a conservative estimate)
So there are 25 spots available to new families. Assume that 1/2 of these will initially accept - so by mid April the list may move by 10. The later you get in the summer, the more committed people are to their plans. So once calls start happening the waitlist can move quickly. Many friends with similar numbers have received calls the week before school starts.
To give you perspective, I have a friend at Stoddert who had #10 - and was called 2 days after school started.

Janney PK moved about 25 last year. This only place with the exact number is the school itself. the initial lottery results can probably be found in the recesses of the dcps web site but not the final list.
