As for the non- seafood eater, they can have their Mac & cheese w/ out lobster. Still yummy, imo

Homemade lobster Mac & Cheese w/ a gig salad.

Make your own fajita (beef, chicken), margaritas, chips/salsa/guac, rice & beans.

BBQ ribs w/ traditional sides (sweet potato, Cole slaw's, cornbread.)

Do you have dessert?

Poster of slower cooker recipe here. I do meal planning so I always use whatever is on special. So any type of beef you try will work bc you are cooking it for such a longer time that it gets tender. The pork as well any cut will do, just be aware that sometimes the pork has a lot of fat on the bottom that you can't see so ask your butcher for a good cut. Although both beef and pork work well, pork comes out more juicy and tender. I like to cut the pork in chuncks the last couple minutes ( its so soft it breaks apart) and I slice the beef and sometimes I add gravy to it on the plate. I also add carrots, potatoes and celery if I have it.

OP here: thanks for all the great ideas...keep em coming. I'll let you know what I end up with. And I like lamb well enough, but Grandmas doesn't, so no lamb for us!

Second the flank steak. Costco has great ones-- you can use one and freeze the other. Marinate overnight in honey, soy sauce and fresh ginger

I love your idea, but could you share a few more details? What kind of beef or pork? Pork tenderloin? Eye of round beef?

Ropa vieja
Quiche

And who are all you people who don't like lamb?

Disagree with the lamb chops idea. A lot of people don't care for lamb.

Lamb chops. Always special, and you can just salt, pepper, and grill. Make sure you leave them pink inside.

If I really wanted to make it a feast, I'd also do a big slab of baked salmon. Just brush it with olive oil, salt, and lemon.

Sides could be steamed asparagus or spinach salad and fancy mac/cheese.

Happy birthday to your babe!

I am making dinner for 5 adults and 4 kids next week for a birthday celebration. The kids can be kind of picky, so I might make them a simple additional dish for them. The bigger challenge is coming up with a "special" entree that won't be too labor intensive because some 1 year old children don't like it when Mommy cooks for too long. One adult is very picky (no fish/seafood). Any great recipe ideas? I was thinking along the idea of a flank steak, brisket, beef burgandy, but I am open to all kinds of good ideas!

Thanks!!!!
