I have been very dissappointed with DC Coast the last times I went, but it has been a while.
Just went to Pearl Dive Oyster Palace and it was fun, loud and very "New York." We went before seven on a Saturday and still waited 1 1/2 for a table. No reservations. But drank and ate oysters in the bar while we waited and had a great tiem. Check out the memo too, the food is pretty basic --gumbos, fried seafood. I had the crabcakes and did not love them -- too much of a mustard flavor and not enough lump crab meat. But there was a fabulous appetizer with seafood, avocado, mexican flavors -- that you could make a meal of. But much more of a fun place, not really romantic.
Black Salt is excellent too. And still love Oceanaire. Want to try Passion Fish.

another one for Black Salt or Pearl Dive Oyster Palace (the latter doesn't take reservations though).
