I say Nashville over Memphis. So much more to do, and a lot of fun.

Thanks for the suggestion but why there? Any tips?

Not pp. but you asked for good food and drinks. NO cant be beat for a food/drink trip. Add music, architecture, and rich history and you've got NO. Charleston is also very nice, but NO is a party town and if I was getting away from kids to party with DH, I'd definitely choose NO each time. The Royal Sonesta is right in the heart of the French quarter, but there are oodles of hotels to choose from that could suite your personal preferences ( from B&b style to large casino.)

Charleston or New Orleans, if you're looking for great food and drink.

Another fun trip is Montreal, just a few hour flight but it almost feels like you are in Paris. New Orleans is fun, but a big spring break destination for college students so I might avoid it during March/early April.

New Orleans...maybe Charleston over Savannah simply because it's larger and there is more to do.

We have a potential 2 nighter without our toddler who will be at home with her grandparents. We are prepared to fly a short distance from DC but only a direct flight to maximise time.

Not: NYC, Philly, Baltimore, Boston, Chicago, Miami, Vegas or San Fran as we've done all of those at least once and in a few cases numerous times.

We were thinking of maybe Savannah, Charleston, Memphis or New Orleans

Some attractions to visit would be a plus but more important is good food and drink since we'll be child free for a few nights!

Any suggestions
