Wait Shepherd Park is not in boundary for Wison, but parts of SE are? That's silly.

Do Jefferson kids actually go to Wilson even though they feed to Eastern? That seems like a long haul for them.

If only 55% are IB then do the OOB kids come in via the middle school feeders?

by definition if they are feeder schools, they are inbounds for Wilson. Again, what's up with 45% OOB stat?

That's probably students who were OOB in feeder schools.

That is my question. Are the 45% considered OOB because they are OOB for the feeders? So while they have a right to attend because they attended a feeder they are out of the boundary lines for Wilson?

I'm the OP, but I would guess that they would get automatic admittance--but with such a huge boundary, you could easily have been OOB for Deal and the in boundary for Wilson. With 1500 students, 45% is 675 "scholars" as Cahill calls them.

That is such Rhee-worship crap. Anyone could get into Wilson (or for that matter, Deal) before the buildings were renovated.

That's because there was not as much pressure for slots from in boundary families. But please, don't let your bizarre dead horse beating of Rhee be interrupted with actual facts. Everyone knows that the in bounds families are flooding Deal and Wison now, as they should.

The DCPS site says that only 55% are in boundary. They are not taking any OOBoundary students this year, I thought.

The feeder schools are listed on the school profile (Deal, Hardy, O-A as noted above):

http://profiles.dcps.dc.gov/Wilson+High+School

In addition, here is the link to the school boundaries. If you live within those boundaries, your child can attend Wilson regardless of what school your child currently attends. This page also has a link to where you can type in your address to determine your in boundary school:

Deal, Hardy, and Oyster Adams (I think) feed directly into Wilson. It doesn't matter if you are OOB at Deal or Hardy; Rhee established a dedicated feeder pattern so that no matter where you are from, if you are already in at Deal or Hardy, you are guaranteed a spot at Wilson. I am not sure about Jefferson and Oyster-Adams, but if you live anywhere in SW DC, you are in boundary for Wilson. Also if you are south of Pennsylvania avenue in southeast, but west of about 4th street you are also in boundary for Wilson.

Attending a feeder school for Wilson, including Deal, gives your child an automatic right to attend Wilson. At least under the current policies.

And if you came up through Deal as OOB, do you automatically get into Wilson? Because I heard that Wilson Is not accepting any OOB anymore.
