I am with other huggers. My group of friends is a very huggy group, and a lot of them are cheek-kissers as well. So I get a lot of hugs and kisses in a normal night out. I like it. I'm not dating anyone right now, so sometimes the physical contact can be kind of nice.

I'm totally cool with a hand-shake or a casual head-nod if the situation warrants it, though.

I am not a hugger with my family of origin or friends and co-workers, but I am a big time hugger with my husband and kids and they love it. They are just so hug-a-licious .

I am not a hugger, only with people I know very well. I feel hugging is an intimate action based on a relationship. I am bothered by people I don't know or those I know very casually that use it as a greeting. They may feel comfortable with and enjoy hugging (I know lots of huggers) but it makes me feel really uncomfortable. It's hard to get out of it without hurting the person's feelings. So I suck it up and feel uncomfortable (but try to avoid them in the future). It would be nice if huggers would think about how the other person might feel before forcing a hug on them.

I hug people I know and love, and only when the occasion calls for it. Otherwise, no hugging. A nice firm handshake will do.
