I would like to point out a few things:

1. The offended people were not radicals. They were regular Afghans.
2. The Afghans are our allies. The Taliban is our enemy.
3. They had a protest that involved throwing some rocks. I have seen as much after a Maryland basketball game.
4. We have no excuse for our action other than complete carelessness.

If it happened to a Torah, there would be an uproar.

If it was a Bible or Book of Jehovah, people would just shrug their shoulders (if even that much)

If it were a picture of a crucifix in a jar of piss, people would do quite a bit more than shrug their shoulders. Christians would even attack and vandalize it:

Did anyone get be headed

No, we kill over Christmas shopping at the mall. Toys are our sacred items.

Not that I know of, but -- since we are moving the goalposts -- how many abortion doctors have the Afghan protesters shot?

Afghans are not Arabs.

I wonder how the sheep of the American street would react if peaceful Muslims wanted to build a mosque in, let's say Tennessee:

http://abcnews.go.com/WN/murfreesboro-tennessee-mosque-plan-draws-criticism-residents/story?id=10956381#.T0VKUlHB994

or Kentucky:

http://www.courier-journal.com/article/20100825/NEWS01/308250079/Mayfield-rejects-planned-mosque

or New York City:

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2010/07/20/eveningnews/main6696724.shtml

Or, how about the sheep in Oklahoma (the two-legged type) who are so convinced that Muslims planned to impose Sharia in Oklahoma that they approved an amendment banning Sharia:

http://articles.cnn.com/2012-01-10/justice/justice_oklahoma-sharia_1_rex-duncan-oklahoma-amendment-sharia-law?_s=PM:JUSTICE

What a bunch of irrational sheep, don't you agree?

Raging atheist here (not the one who signs in) who will never understand why religious people resort to violence but I'm just curious to know how people would react if you walked into some megachurch or some Hasidic congregation and set a Bible on fire? Would they really just pray for your soul?
