op here - Sometimes! Yikes, I thought it was just a simple question. It was her first going to school ( she didn't know - I wasn't being nosy, she told me but was curious). I have a 9th grader so we aren't there yet - I was just asking hoping to get info on the experience of others. Honestly read my post 3 times and tried to figure out how it could possibly generate the few nasty responses it did. Wow.
To the poster with the last link, thank you, that was very informative and interesting - I hadn't thought to google that particular question. Probably a safer bet than asking the nice folks here.
Really, why are people so quick to vilify others here for no reason? If I asked you the same question face to face in the grocery store would you be so nasty? Upbringing shows when the lights are out.

Because if the OP really wants to know, just ask the actual recepient of the card. The only reason to ask here is to be a nosy neighbor. Be transparent, act like a big girl and ask. If you're not comfortable asking, then its none of your business where/when/if your neighbor's kid gets accepted to William and Mary or anywhere else.
Not necessarily. Perhaps OP would like the info for future reference when her child applies to college, but does not want to discuss it with her neighbor during this very stressful time.
BTW lighten up, there is no need to be so nasty.
