OP here, so many good points!

I love when the couples are in the D.C. area, and end up not buying because they couldn't find the stainless steel, brand new, master suite connected to the double sink bathroom for 300,000 in Vienna, Va.

Lol! The men always want a "man cave" to avoid the harpy they married who is forcing them to buy more house than they can afford.

I like Holmes Inspection, though it freaks me out.

Property Virgins, Real Estate Intervention, and Designed to Sell.

Especially love watching REI and seeing homes in our area and sellers with completely unrealistic ideas of what their house is worth, and finally being given a clue on the realities of what the down housing market means. Everybody is so convinced that their part of town escaped the housing crash.

As for stainless, although everyone wants it, I've heard a few buyers on Househunters say "Well, black appliances. We wanted stainless steel, but we can live with these." Not often, but occasionally. The best part of the faux househunting part is listening to their critiques of the home that they've already closed on and then going back to listen to them in the "X weeks later" about how much they love their house. The ones that are really bad actors/actresses are hysterical.

House Hunters, My First Place, Property Virgins. I love when they say they can not live in a house without stainless steel appliances & granite countertops. I swear stainless steel appliances are going to be like the advocado green appliances of the 60s/70s. Just once I'd love to hear someone say "we'll have to cover up this wood floor with carpet." Or "too bad, stainless steel, I was hoping for white appliances."

Yes, exactly. Huge disappointment. I had a friend on House Hunters International and they pretended to be viewing the house they already owned!

I like HHI mostly because I want to see the houses in other countries. I don't actually care which house the people buy. And I hate the constant Caribbean/Central American beach episodes. Boring. Give me more Europe/Asia/Middle East!

I used to love Designer's Challenge and Designing for the Sexes. That was years ago, before HGTV got really popular and loaded up on fake shows.

Also love "Bang for the Buck".

What is your favorite show?

I love House Hunters and Property Virgins. The show with the brothers is growing on me, a close third.
