I took a few a few valentines crafts to the classroom a few weeks before. The teachers cut them up and the kids pasted them on pink hearts. It costs less than a dollar since I bought the stuff after the holiday last year.

FWIW, I am a preschool teacher, and I received several small boxes of chocolate and several 'teacher' valentines with pieces of candy attached. One mom made some chocolate-covered fruit for all of the teachers to share, which was very nice. I don't really expect much on Valentine's Day, but it is always appreciated when I do.

2yr old DD and I made homemade valentines and cookies for her dad and grandparents, so we also made one for her daycare provider together with a little bag of the cookies tied with a ribbon. Definitely nothing fancy or expensive. It was more because it was fun for us than a deliberate decision to buy a gift for daycare. Had I not gotten my act together to bake, we would not have gotten her provider a valentine gift.

We didnt. I specifically asked if there was a valentines celebration in class or for the class last week so we could prepare as necessary and was told they didnt do anything in this age group - 18 mo -2's....So we made valentines for the neighborhood kids and passed those out and went to school this morning empty handed. As soon as we got there I saw a mom giving one of the teachers a valentine present. Oops. I hate it when I ask all the right questions and STILL get it wrong!lol

I did (a nice chocolate assortment) and they were very appreciative.

No, and we LOVE the teachers. Have no idea what other parents did. Child made a valentine for each.

Kind of glad I didn't give gifts. Apparently they scheduled the trading of valentines for the 30 minute period during which my daughter (and others) were out of the classroom for a (school-sponsored) class. And they totally forgot her. She was the only kid who didn't go home with any valentines last night. I was furious. how the hell do you forget a kid who has been in your class every day for 8 months?

I got each one of those little $3 box of Whitman's heart shaped boxes with the red cellophane on it. They were small but seemed appreciated. In my younger son's daycare class, I didn't notice anyone else giving a gift but to me, it's personal preference because I really like the teachers. In my older son's Pre-K class at a private school, all the kids seemed to have brought in valentine's only for the teachers who had a stocked bag just like the kids.

nope never have, my son is now in K. I never saw other parents do anything either.

Me either. I didn't do drop off yesterday so I don't know if other parents did. Ugh. I hope not.
