That was me, and that's been my experience on match.
I didn't say there wasn't a mix. I meant that is what the men prefer.
Nearly every guy on there that I've viewed has listed "slim/slender" or "athletic/toned" as their preferred body type. Even the men that are easily over 300 pounds. SOME of them will list "average" as a preferred type as well, but the majority want the other types. Nearly fell off my chair when one guy I viewed recently said in his profile that he prefers curvy women and that women should be proud of their curves. He is the minority.

I'm amused because my best friend who is Jewish found his wife on eharmony. They've been married for 4 years now.

As the original eharmony poster, I stand corrected. I got the impression when I looked at the site that it was aimed mostly at christians & catholics.
Though I stand by my assessment of match.

My dad, who is 68, met his girlfriend on Match.com. She's cool. I think you have to be selective and be open to setting up many first dates.

another vote for OK Cupid - you answer a bunch of questions (some of them very interesting) and it sends you matches, and also allows you to browse. I actually thought the matches it sent me made a lot of sense, personality-wise. I didn't find a ton of them very attractive and some of them lived WAY too far away, but the personality-matching algorithm was spot-on. Most of the guys contacting me seem very nice and normal. I've met one guy through the site (i don't have much time for dating) and he was nice. A friend of mine is now living with the guy she met through the site - he's great. Try it!

EHarmony.... You don't have to be very Christian! Good luck. Also try signing up for a class or joining a meetup group.

Only go on match if you're young (20's-mid-30's), thin or athletic, and at least mildy attractive. Otherwise you're wasting your time.

If you're very Christian, eharmony might work for you.

If you want to go free, try plenty o fish or ok Cupid. But they're more for hook ups than relationships.

Of course not. If A woman is on many dating sites she is looking at many options for love. If a man is doing it then he just wants sex. Didn't you get your copy of the double standard guidebook

I know 4 couples who met on Match.

And I have one friend who is on ALL of them -- she can instantly identify the guys who are just looking for sex, because they're on all of them, too.

I've been married for 6 years to a guy I met on match.com. Best thing that ever happened to me.
