Same poster as above here. I didn't read your post closely - I agree with PP's - if you are #4 you are in, no problem! I wouldn't worry about it at all. I think we were in the 30's the first week of school and were in within the week.

You're definitely in at #4. They'll have plenty of slots once they clean out the 6th graders.

Agree with this (and the other PPs). Wakefield Forest also has an excellent backup-to-SACC option at JCC, so there will be lots of movement over the summer. Since you are #4 on the waiting list you should have no issues.

I'd say with being #4 on the waitlist right now, you likely won't have to worry about getting in for the start of the school year... If there is an issue, it likely won't be more than a few weeks at most before you get in, so I'd only make temporary backup plans at this point if you ultimately want to be in SACC.

There is generally a lot of movement on the waitlist through the summer, especially when the SACC bills for Sept. arrive for people who don't plan to use SACC next year. (Once they get the bill, folks who have procrastinated in notifying SACC that they won't be using the services seem to suddenly remember to cancel!)

Also keep in mind that this year's 6th graders will be leaving. (Though that may be taken into account with your waitlist number.)

My 4 year old...who will be in Kindergarten starting in Sept is number 4 on the SACC after school program waiting list. I've been told it is "likely, but not certain" she will get in to the SACC program.

For those of you experienced with SACC, when should I start making alternate childcare plans? What are some of the alternatives I should consider? How does that then work when she gets off the wait list?

If it matters, the school is Wakefield Forest.

Thanks!
