I use it a lot while I'm out to remind myself to do something when I get home. If you've set your home location, it will go off as you're walking in the door--I love that!

Also use it for calling/texting people when I don't have hands free, usually when driving or walking the dog.

and you do NOT need to say "Siri" but my DH does EVERY time.

Here are some things I may say to Siri:

"Note" and she says "what would you like the note to say";
"Remind me" ==> "OK, what would you like to be reminded about? . . . . OK, when would you like me to remind you"
"Read me that text"==> "Text from Alex, "let's meet at 12:15" . . . .
"Text to Amy" ===> "what would you like to say to Amy . . . would you like me to send it?"
"Thai food"
just play around with it for a while and you'll get the hang of it. And sure, ask her silly questions, that's fun too.

how 'bout a Siri Dummy tutorial briefly ... what do you tell it/her (It's an "it" to me lol) to do to make the grocery list or reminder for example?

ie what's the command: "Siri ... [???]"

I'm a month into my iPhone and not using it much so far other than for voice dialing while driving so I'm curious to learn/hear more though I don't want to start mainlining Siri-ness 8)

I have it but never use it. I'm gonna use some of the suggestions above.

I"ve asked her to look for a brothel. Try it. See what you get. She's also fun to mess with at parties but maybe I"m not that mature.

I too use her to make lists while driving and searching for something (like food) when I am out of my normal area.

I have a baby and am always setting reminders and timers so I don't forget things.

Every Morning, for instance, I check the Arlington transit website for when my bus is due and then set a timer for when I need to leave. Or if we are going somewhere with the baby, I set an alarm for when we need to get ready to go so I don't have to watch the clock.

Other times it is just easier to tell Siri to look something up than tap with my thumbs.

I use Siri when I know what kind of thing I am looking for but not exactly the specific thing. For example, if I am out and I want to find a coffeeshop nearby, but I don't know the area and don't know what is around. You can just say, "Find a coffeeshop" and she will come up with a list of nearby coffeeshops. This is easier than using google when you want to limit your search by proximity to your current location. I also use her when at home to look up the numbers of businesses near my house (i.e. local dry cleaners, pizza delivery place) because she finds the nearest list of such businesses and then you can just pick from the list and touch to call. Again, faster than google because of the GPS function.

Actually, Siri is only on the iPhone 4s. It doesn't come on the 4.
