Maybe it has something to do with the nasal dilation (eucalyptus is a natural decongestant) https://www.amazon.com/Fess-Eucalyptus-Nasal-Spray-Default/dp/B00C1W4ZHY

I have to sniff eucalyptus oil too! It's a pregnancy addiction for me, I drop some on a rag and huff it, I can't figure out why but the craving goes awau immediately after birth. This is my 4th pregnancy and it was the same with all.

Floor mats? Do they smell like food?

no... it's weird, like i said.

I also have the weird urge to consume (as in swallow) large quantities of gum.

The eucalyptus mint lotion and massage oil from Bath and Body Works is amazing.

I am 35 weeks and for the past 2 weeks haven't been able to stop thinking about eucalyptus drops! It started off with a cold and I had one lolly to help with sore throat, next thing I know I can't go to sleep without chewing on a few (the Aussie's brand ones). Yum yum and love it so much =) Also in love with the smell of tea tree oil but not as bad as eucalyptus

Mint, eucalyptus, tea tree oil and sandalwood--all have antibacterial properties, I belive.

PP, I had pica in early pregnancy. I wanted to EAT dirt. Satistfied the craving with mineral water--I figured it was some sort of mineral deficiency.

Ooooh - I usually like certain strong smells (like coffee beans) that are totally repulsing me right now. For some reason, it's the eucalyptus that is really getting me - I have a bottle of the oil and just love it. I had heard of food and taste cravings, but craving smells is a new idea for me. The idea of craving "clean" smells makes sense...... Although the other smell I'm craving are the smell of fresh earth.

I LOVE the smell of eucalyptus...pregnant or not! I have become super sensitive to smells this pregnancy and there are very few things I like. I will stand in the soap aisle for 15 minutes smelling every soap. So far, eucalyptus, tea tree oil and sandalwood are the ones I like the best. I usually like lavender, but it's not sitting with me so well at the moment.

because it smells "clean" perhaps (both scents) and you are evolutionarily programmed to seek cleanlieness and avoid infections?

I'm 26 weeks pregnant and have recently started craving the smell of eucalyptus constantly. Has this happened to anyone else? I tried to explain to my DH how absolutely amazing it is smelling to me right now, but he obviously can't really relate!
