I've been tubing with my kids and if you have a carrier for your baby, it would be a great fun day. If you don't have a carrier, it probably wouldn't work. The kiddie trail is notHing like the regular trail. The cost is per day. The kiddies trail isn't very long and you can go like a dozen times in an hour. Last time we went, which was last year, the staff would push your kid down the hill if you wanted. They got them going really fast and would spin them all around. All the kids loved it, mine especially.

Tubing newbie here, but this looks like a fun trip.
If going with an almost 3 year old and a 4.5 year old how does the regular trail compare to the kiddie trail at Whitetail (or Liberty, but it seems they wouldn't be allowed there)? And is the cost per person or per tube?

Whitetail also has tubing (they are about as far as Liberty). My 4 and 7 yr old went. They did not check ages. My 4 yr old went on the regular tubing lanes with us. Honestly the 4 and under looked more like 2.5 and under. Most ppl were taking their 3 yr old and above children on the regular tubing area. No one said a word. We did not do liberty b/c it had not opened up yet, but my kids had a blast at Whitetail.

I think tubing with a 3 yo and 7 month old would be difficult. I went with two 2.5 year olds and a 4 year old and another adult. One of us went up and helped at the top and the other waited at the bottom, not sure how you'd manage with the baby. However, I think your 5 year old would have a good time on the smaller hill for at least a portion of the time and that would be doable. Your DH and the 3 and 5 year old could go to the top, you could help on the bottom. I can't remember how the tickets work, but maybe they could do the larger hill for less time or something and you could go get hot chocolate with the little ones? You should probably check the height requirements for the big hill to make sure your 5 year old is big/old enough.

Thanks for the reply. I was talking about the tubing - not the skiing Any ideas on that?

Not sure I would try this with a 3 year old and 7 month old. The 3 year old will fall a lot the first time out. You will need to help them get up, get their skis situated, and helped them on to the lift. I don't think its very doable. Could you have a group lesson for the 3 year old instead? They also don't like people without ski passes hanging out on the slopes in the way of those that have paid. Its great place for beginners - wide slopes. We took our DS skiing for the first time when he was 4 and he last max of an hour on the slopes. Most of it was falling down. We purchased a harness and leash for him that made picking up much easier, the leash controlled his speed and direction. Still when they are bundled up, skiis are crossed and frustrated trying to get them back up with a baby in your arms sounds like a disaster.

Hi- For those of you who have been, we'll be there with my 5, 3 and 7 month old. Will I be able to do the little slope with the 3 year old while holding the 7 month old? My husband will be on the bigger slope with our oldest and I am trying to see how much help the 3 year old will need from me. I won't be able to help much since I will have my hands full.
Thanks for any info you can share!

nope, Liberty is probably the closest. They have tubing at Nemacolin, Snowshoe, etc. - not sure on age range.
One nice thing is that Liberty has a pretty fun little daycare, if you wanted to do a little skiing yourself. My coworker has season passes and has been complaining about the especially poor conditions there this year, on account of the weird weather. Good luck!

We were already there, but our 3 and 5 year olds had a blast. It's not big, but a lot of fun for an hour or two. You can go into Gettysburg to make an entire day of it.
However, with the weather the way it is, you should check to be sure they are open- not sure they are making snow for the tubing hills.

We were looking at ski resorts nearby for information on snow tubing. DS is 4 years old, and it seems like Liberty's snow tubing is for kids 5 years and older. Their Pebble Ridge Kiddie Tubing is for 2-4 year olds, but I am wondering if it's worth it do a 2 hour+ drive out there.
Are there any other tubing places close by for 4 year olds?
