I can not seem to find anything to help my white (not bi-racial) poor DD with extremely curly hair. I can not be the only one out there with a white child with curly hair.

Am I?

Shame on you OP. Why do you use the term "poor DD"? That says something about you that you will probably make her feel ashamed about her curly hair.

Google " curly hair products" naturallycurly.com is the first result, followed by Quidad and a few others.

What were you googling before?!

I hear good things about the Diva Curl line.

I found a product at Whole Foods called Beautiful Curls. All of the products are natural and the oils are absorbed so it keeps the hair moisturized. My son is AA/white with fine hair, tight curls, and it works great on him. I've also used it on my fine & curly hair and it works well. http://www.beautifulcurls.com/store/pc/catNurture.asp?idcategory=4

Another option is to put her hair in a ponytail type bun at night when it's wet and let her sleep with it that way. Do a leave-in treatment and it helps with frizz in the am. There is a little girl at daycare with super curly hair and her parents do this.

I'm surprised you have this issue, you must be googling different things than I did. I'm white and my white daughter has very curly hair. I did a bunch of googling and found lots of resources and advice on how to take care of her hair. Most of it was racially neutral.

I assume you don't have curly hair?

If you are willing to spend the money, I highly recommend the DevaCurl line.

I use Diva Curl products on my DDs hair. It works well.

Detangler is essential -- I use Pantene. And lots of it.

A stylist once told me "Honey, what your hair needs is product. Lots and lots of product."

Yeah- most white folks are greasier and the oils can be really heavy. I happen to be a non-oily white person and I really need the greasy goop for my dry hair.

Not OP, but the texture of hair is different. Most white girls do not need added oils, etc.

I have a white daughter with curly hair. What kind of help are you looking for? We use this cream on her hair to prevent frizz and keep them under control.

Why is it...that when I google curly hair, or anything for curly hair...it is all AA specific?

I can not seem to find anything to help my white (not bi-racial) poor DD with extremely curly hair. I can not be the only one out there with a white child with curly hair.
