You don't know what you are talking about. The age of consent in Maryland is 16. That means anyone 16 or over can make a decision on who they want to have sex with. They can be 18, 28, or 68.

If this guy had been her next door neighbor and not a coach no law would have been broken.

The girl must have been 15 at the time. 16 is legal in Maryland. But a 4th degree sex offense, which he is allegedly charged with, is with a minor who is 14 or 15 years old, with the defendant at least 4 years older.
