At my MBA orientation they gave us a pep talk about being below average. They said that nearly everyone in the class had been in the top 5-10% in HS and college but that exactly half of us would be below the median in the MBA class (pretty much no arguing with that math!).

In my psychology program, most students had all A's or a mix of A's and B's. If you got a C you were booted from the program.

You need A's and B's to keep your financial aid in grad school. C is like an F. Not only do your professors think you suck, your aid is pulled as well.

In computer science earning a C was like a huge F!

At my MBA program all A's was not common at all.

Social work -- all As. But I think you had to beat up a kid to get a B.

Depends on what kind of grad school. In a lot of programs, everyone basically gets an A or A-. Anything lower was a signal that you really were not doing well. This was true of a humanities program I was in. In law school, especially if there's a curve, not so much.

I was straight A in grad school. Undergrad I was about at 2.8.

I know this is a question that cant be really answered b/c there are many many variables, but for those of you who have been to or are in grad school:

What grades are typical?

It seems to me that if people are motivated enough to go to grad school, they likely are going to work to get the As. Is this generally true?
