OP here, I just called the school and Pre-Registered my 4 yar old DD. The secretary will be sending a packet home with my child that's enrolled now. Secretary said orientation is 2 days in May.

Orientation (in 2011) was April 1- May 27. So Registration would occur long before "May."

OP asked when orientation/registration was. My experience has always been that orientation is in May, and not necessarily the same date. No need to be a jerk. And surprise, at my kids' school, you can always register at orientation, if you haven't already.

Of course OP needs to call her school. I think that's what everyone has suggested.

We already have orientation date for our school. Forms are due prior to the date of orientation.

This. I just called our school yesterday. The info will be available early April with the orientation in May. They can tell you exact date for the orientation. Depending on how big your school is it will take one or two days. You can also check the school's calendar and see when Kindergartners don't have school in May.

May, but the forms can be mailed to your home. I imagine you can simply mail them back, or if you have a child already there, send them back in with him/her. The purpose of orientation is to make sure all your forms are correctly filled out and that you have the necessary documents, and also to introduce you to kindergarten and the school in general.

I'm pretty sure you would have to show the house paperwork, since it goes in their "permanent file."

Why don't you call your school secretary? Sounds like you already have a child there.

Also, do I have to go through the entire registration process to register a K if I already have a child registered in the same school? I know I have to show i.d. and proof of i.d. for the K but will I have to show all of those house papers again as well?
