How do you plan to sell them? I expect you'll get a lot less if you just post them on eBay or something, than if you consign them with a gallery.

Also, some artists have a very active following. You might google the artist/piece and see what comes up.

My mother gave us a Peter Max lithograph years ago. I googled it just to get a sense of the insurance value. In the decade since she gave it it us, there was a major resurgence in interest in his work.

Wrote mom a nice note and called my insurance agent.

I have several signed paintings/ prints that I'm ready to sell, but have no idea how much to ask for them. Any tips or recommendations on an appraiser?
