I found Mont St Michel to be cheesy when I went (as a teenager) lots of junky shops around the base - although the structure itself is pretty cool to see. You might always want to consider the beaches in Brittany. I went to Dinard - it was beautiful.

I went to Mont St. Michel as a kid (6 or 7?) and loved it, FWIW.

We liked Bayeaux. At her age MSM would be nice.
We stayed in a fantastic, but expensive B & B called La Ducrie

Nice people, great hospitality and the food was amazing.

Thanks for your comments. Our daughter is 13. Any recommendations of towns to hit on the way? Hotels?

Look up Normandy on Tripadvisor. Beatiful area. We loved it, but our kids were teens. I wouldn't recommend MSM for little kids.

How old are ur kids? Mt st Michel would be really really hard and a bit boring for little ones. Maybe giverney or the Loire or even Reims would be more fun. If ur kids are Older than third grade though, mt st Michel would be great!!

We're heading to Paris this summer and would like to take 2-3 days to drive through the countryside. Any recommendations for wonderful drives?

Mont St. Michel is a possibility but not sure what towns to stop in along the way. Any hotel recommendations out that way?

Thanks!
