Thanks folks

Doc said it's a viral upper respiratory infection. She mentioned we should keep the fever between 101 and 102 to kill the darn bug faster. Thanks God no throat or ear infection.

And thanks for the support. I really appreciate it!

It's that time of year - all sorts of viruses around. This year's ickiness seems to involve high temps (103-105 range) and respiratory symptoms. We went through something similar last week, caught from a daycare buddy. Keep giving fluids and medication for the fever, and let her sleep as much as needed. It took DS about 4 days to initially recover, and a couple more days to be back to normal.

Oh, I hope they figure out what's going on and help her feel better quickly. Good luck.

Sounds a little like RSV. Check back in and let us know everything is ok.

She just woke up crying - totally not her. She's wheezing we're taking her to urgent care.

Thanks folks.

My DD of about the same age occasionally sleeps like that when she's sick (mildly sick) though it's often the first sign.

She's responsive. She's even briefly waking up to get her pacifier when it falls. It fell out of the crib and she called me to pick it up.

I'll call anyway. Thanks.

If it were me I'd wake her up to check on her.
If she is unresponsive take her to the ER.
103.5 is a high temp for such a little one.

That would be so out of character for my toddler, that I would be worried and call the doctor. What happens if you try to wake her -- that is, is she responsive?

keep an eye on it and call the ped for advice if you're worried. but extra sleep in both kids and adults is a pretty normal reaction to feeling badly.

Do I call the Ped?

She had a rough day yesterday with mild fever (that we left alone) almost no apetite (but had plenty of fluids) runny nose and cough.

She went to bed at her regular time and when I went to do my last check before I go to bed myself she was burning in fever (103.5) and a huge peed diaper. I changed her, gave her ibuprofen and the fever was down in 10 minutes. She asked for a cup of lemonade (I usually make it for her during the day) she had half of it and went to sleep. She's been asleep since then. She asked for milk in her sleep and I let her have it - twice - she didn't even wake up for it - she often talks in her sleep asking for things so that part is OK. What I'm concerned is the sleep. She is feverish but low grade. I changed her diaper and she's still there snoring.

Should I just let her sleep? She never got sick before What do I do?

She's 19 mos old.
