Pete Baroody is the PE teacher at my child's school and he is a wonderful person and the camps are great. If you are in NOVA.

FYI, for others, our son spent a few weeks at Coach Karver's basketball camp at BCC (in the unairconditioned fieldhouse!) and we would NOT recommend it.

My 13 y.o. daughter, a Sidwell student, has attended both the Sidwell camp and Coach Karver's camp at BCC High School in Chevy Chase. Sidwell was fine, but Coach Karver's camp was really fun, and there were more boys. At either of these, however, I'm not sure how many boys there would be in your older son's age range. I've heard that the camp at St. John's is good and we know many boys who like it very much.

Another vote for Wooten -- sleepaway is excellent and local day camp is great too. One on One basketball also has some good camps. Check your local public high school, often the varsity coach & team run a day camp -- those can be inexpensive & fun.

Coach Wootten's Basketball Camp is taught by the legendary Morgan Wootten and his son, also a successful coach.

My nieces went to the basketball camp at Sidwell Friends School and loved it--co-Ed, good with varied abilities. Pretty reasonably priced also.

My kids love basketball, but they are not very good at it because the don't get a lot of opportunities to play. We live overseas, we're coming for the Summer for six weeks. We would like to find them a good basketball program. They play decent soccer and are good swimmers. They are 10 and 13 with athletic built. The younger child has natural athletic abilities and pick up skills quickly, the older one is more relaxed about sport but dedicated, attentive, corporate and loves to be challenged. They have good social instincts and adapts quickly. I know registrations for camps is starting soon, but I haven't clue where to start. I appreciate any leads you can offer. TIA
