Do any Ethiopian places serve rice or another starch? DS (2) has never had injera, and I'm not sure if he'll like it. Do you think I should just bring him some food in case he won't eat any injera?
for those of you who go to ethiopian restaurants with your kids, can you recommend some dishes that may appeal to kids with not quite so adventurous palates? i'd love to take my kids, but i can't think of what to try to ease them into the food. they like any meat, but nothing spicy. they like plain crisp veggies (like in stir fries, or raw) but i can't imagine them eating soft veggies cooked in spicy sauces. would love your ideas on how to get novice kids to embrace ethiopia foods!
Thank you!!! The reason I asked about 'kid-friendly' is because I visited some of their websites and some of the places look 'nice' (not like your regular pizza parlor) and I just wanted to make sure that it is acceptable to bring a child.
Ethiopic in the Atlas District is fantastic! I've taken my DD and other kids there and they are very kid-friendly. It's my current favorite Ethiopian restaurant. The kids love it because they can eat with their hands!
My birthday is on Saturday and DH told me that I can pick a restaurant and I would LOVE to try Ethiopian food. Unfortunately, we are unable to afford a babysitter and I was wondering if there are any really good Ethiopian restaurants that are child-friendly. DS is 5 years old and pretty well behaved at restaurants. We were thinking about an early dinner (around 5 pm) to avoid the 'childless and fancier' dinner crowds.
