Thank you for your reassurance. Yes, there are other 2nd grade teachers but only 1 has been a 2nd grade FCPS teacher before. Glad to know that the AART has resources and I think the administration will be very supportive of her, too.

I wouldn't be too concerned. My daughter was admitted a couple years ago and it was her teacher's first year of teaching ever.

I wouldn't worry. AARTs have mentors from other schools that they work with, and lead the 2nd grade teachers in AAP identification. I am guessing that your school has more than one 2nd grade teacher in the school.

I hadn't been worried about this process at all but just today (boy am I slow?!!) realized that our school has a new AART and our 2nd grade teacher is new to FCPS. Maybe it is time to get worried!
