The extra mile? I would find such a tray annoying myself. I prefer that my child sit up at the table.

No lysol wipe in the world would make me feel better about putting food directly on a public tray. But I think I did see somewhere recently that had those trays and wrapped in plastic even. I want to say it was Baja Fresh, but I wouldn't swear by it. I passed it up because I thought the tray was annoying and kept my baby on my lap at the table.

HIGH MAINTENANCE. WOW. What if one restaurant had these types of chairs? Is that good enough for you to go to it? We generally pick where we want to eat based on what we want to eat.

I imagine it is a space issue for restaurants. The seats with trays are not stackable, and they also take up more room around a table/in the aisles. Just not very practical for a restaurant.

OP here - they would from me. I always bring disinfectant wipes. I guess I got spoiled on the cruise we were just on. In the main dining room they always brought us high chairs with trays (trays wrapped in plastic too) and I thought - this is great! Oh well.

And of course they're not obligated, just thought someone out there might be going the extra mile for families with kids.

OP here - they would from me. I always bring disinfectant wipes. I guess I got spoiled on the cruise we were just on. In the main dining room they always brought us high chairs with trays (trays wrapped in plastic too) and I thought - this is great! Oh well.

This. Get a clip on high chair that the kid can sit up at the table or bring your own. No one has ever complained when we've brought the clip or our booster seat. To be decent, they will provide the basic style which is easy to stack. Not their responsibility to provide very child specific products to please everyone.

I have yet seen a high chair with tray at a restaurant. (nanny in nova for 15 yrs). Ask for a bigger table or bring ur own chair.

I think you're going to have work with what they offer if you want to keep going out. Believe me, it gets worse once they want to start running around. Asking for a larger table is an easy fix.

why don't you get one of the portable high chairs that attaches to the chair-- those come with trays. I think high chairs with trays in restaurants are highly unusual.

Anyone know of any? We enjoy taking the little guy out to eat with us, but the high chairs with the trays are so much easier for him and for us. Most restaurant high chairs sit him directly at the table, requiring a huge baby-zone and little room left over for our plates. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
