Baked + Wired in Georgetown has really great GF cupcakes

I know you said you don't want to bake, but if you decide to give it a shot, I recommend http://www.thenuttygarbanzo.com/. She's got some great gluten free recipes that are pretty easy to work with.

We ordered one of these cupcakes at Lilit and it was very dry and hard. I don't know how old it was, though. Perhaps it is better if purchased directly from the bakery. I had been willing to trek up to Baltimore to go to the bakery b/c it sounded great. But I didn't go after I tasted the cupcake at Lilit. My kids like the Pamela's yellow cake mix (can be used for cupcakes too). Passover sponge cake (made with potato starch) has also been a big hit.

I've been impressed with King Arthur gluten free mixes too. I had a GF cupcake at Sticky Fingers this morning and I was not impressed. The ones from Red Velvet are much, much nicer. I don't think they're organic, but they're made from high quality ingredients.

Buzz has good GF cupcakes in chocolate or vanilla, although they all may have almonds on top (you could call ahead). Hello Cupcake also has GF - they say they have a different flavor each day, but whenever I've been there its chocolate or vanilla. Georgetown Cupcakes supposedly has a GF flavor each day. Baked & Wired has chocolate-strawberry GF cupcakes. Also CakeLove (chocolate or vanilla I think is all they have) and Sticky Fingers. I don't know if any of these are organic though.

Try CakeLove or Whole Foods. Sticky Fingers in Columbia Heights also makes awesome gluten-free cupcakes, but I don't know if they're organic.
