Wilson is good for a kid who wants a traditional school experience with a strong AP program, sports teams, clubs etc. Walls is good for kids who are self-starters with lopsided interests, since they can really get into a topic in-depth via college classes.

that's why there are administrative staff in the offices, right? to answer routine queries and filter those requiring personal attention? or is it acceptable to only answer the first say, 35 of the day? I was at a meeting where one parent complained of lack of response to emails for 3 weeks...and counting

Wilson's principal and administration are very opaque. There is a failure to respond to emails, and their phone system is a joke. I don't know if Walls has this issue?

Which is to say that DCPS's best is truly mediocre.

How did you find out that no Walls kids were accepted at Ivy's? Is this information available for other schools?

They do not both suck. Give me a break. I think that SWW is better. They certainly have much higher scores, but Banneker's are the highest in the city. You can do the joint program with GW at SWW. That has been a draw for us.

Do you know for sure that Wall's kids applied to Ivy Schools? Suprisingly, other DCPS high schools had Ivy league acceptance.

I saw that there was a previous thread about this, but it ended in the spring of last year. I was wondering now that Wilson is in the new building as is Walls, if anyone has any new opinions on the benefits of each. One thing I found surprising was that no Walls kids were accepted at Ivys last year. Any information would be great. Thanks.
