Costco has a delicious (and vegetarian) Mexican 7 layer dip. Their hummus is decent too. Pick up tortilla chips and cut up veggies to eat with them.

Thanks everyone, please tell me more. Unfortunately wegmans and HT are not close.
As for the snarky pp, I wonder if some people post just to get others mad. Incase you are for real, yes costco is the best I can do at this time and seeing family and friends is more important in our circles than serving gourmet food.

I think the shrimp at Costco is great. They also have a good Greek pasta salad. The kids might like the rolled up sandwiches.

I know you said costco or TJ, but Harris Teeter has lots of options too.

Or, things to do yourself:
-buy different kinds of cheese cubes
-buy baguette rounds and serve with brushetta

17:05 - i know it's hard for you to believe, but Somepeople value relationships and having fun with the people they love more than superficial crap like the right kind of food. Yours must be a sad, sad existence.

I'd get a 6 ft sub - they can make the sections of it different, so maybe one could be veg. Plus some bags of chips and a fruit platter. You could also the big sliced cheese/pepperoni tray with crackers for snacking beforehand. Of course get a tray of cookies/brownies too!

That's a really snobbish response from PP. I think Costco has good products, including the trays.

We are going to have some friends over, including kids (less than 10 yrs). Total of around 30 people. Can you suggest some good food trays, I am thinking something like appetizers and finger foods that we can buy at costco and trader joes? We have some vegetarians too so need both veggie and non-veggie foods. Thanks.
