In pool might be 132, but that is on any subtest. There will be kids admitted without being in pool, and some with no CogAT or NNAT above 120. They probably will not have any weak sections, and high GBRS, though. It does not hurt to apply. Good luck

Why is the private school teacher telling you to apply? Honestly, a WISC score of 120 isn't that close; as a PP noted, they usually want 130+. Why does the teacher feel your child needs to be in AAP? What grade is your child in?

Do the application. It buys you more time.

If she gets in, it gives you more time to make your decision. You can even accept, and up to 3 weeks before school cancel if you change your mind.

If you don't do the application, you have no choice.

Based on past results in recent years, they seem to want a WISC of 130+

As a side note - Up until 1993, FCPS primarily used the WISC for GT consideration and only those with 140+ were admitted to the center. Those with 130+ were offered school-based services.

What WISC score are they looking for? Do you think kids who get in based on their WISC score do well in the program?

I would submit it.

If they don't admit her, you'll just be in the same place you'll be in if you don't submit it.
You have nothing to lose.

may not be worth the effort. the teacher rec from a private school wont carry that much weight if the test scores arent great, and, really, 120 isnt even close.

Not a great score, but the teacher rec will carry a lot of weight.

Help! My daughter's WISC score is 120. She has been enrolled in a private school and therefore does not have NNAT or CoGAT scores. Her teacher is recommending I complete the AAP application. She is very motivated, but I am wondering if I am wasting my time given the WISC score. Thanks.
