23:41 here. The AD wasn't very specific (and we didn't get to observe the playdate) but they indicated our child did not take direction well (we were declined).

We didn't get in somewhere and they indicated that the playdate was a factor. Of course I was impressed my kid separated without any issues, I wasn't really expecting much from the actual play date (and I still can't believe schools do).

What makes you think they were negative? Would you mind giving examples. Are you being too hard on yourselves.

I was always under the impression that they just said it was good or didn't say much. Would you mind saying which schools told you. With the exception of Sidwell, I thought most ADs are pretty tightlipped about giving out that information.

For those of you who received negative feedback- when did they discuss the playdate with you? Right after? At the interview?

My DD wet her pants at a "big 3" playdate and was accepted. Maybe they didn't notice or maybe they didn't care. I wouldn't worry about something like your child picking his nose. When playdates don't go well (that would be my other child) it is generally because of something much more significant. And even if it goes well, there just aren't enough slots for all the kids.

question for those you who received negative feedback - were you surprised? did you have a sense from your DC that the playdate didn't go well? My DC always seems to have had a great time, but I do wonder - did he pick his nose? pinch someone? asking if he can "pee"?

We got negative feedback too. Made me sad. DD really was having a bad day but I'd imagine any parent would offer that explaination, given that we all want admission to a limited number of spots. Saddest part for me was my guilt at feeling somewhat disappointed in my kid for having a bad day. This process really is stressful.

The only feedback I've gotten was positive, which makes me wonder if they're just trying to make me feel good.

At my DD's school, once she got in and we accepted the spot, the school arranged a meeting with the lower school principal to give us feedback about the play visit, among other things. The principal read the teacher's notes from the play visit. She told us the good and the bad.

Huh? Wondering why you are expecting to get feedback? I'd love some, but don't think we're going to get it, and certainly wouldn't expect it before decisions are made. Would love to hear about it if I'm wrong, though.
