PP echos a lot of the experience we had there when our dd was also three. They just didn't seem to get preschoolers, IMO. Seemed fine for older kids, but no accomodation was made for the fact that preschoolers were more than littler than the others. Carpool was rough and made no accomodation for kids that had a hard time separating and the counselors didn't seem to get that she needed a little more help than the big kids. Was pretty frustrating.

Flip side, the next summer we had a GREAT time at Landon camp, which has the preschoolers in a separate buiding and the whole thing seems appropriately designed just for them. We and DD are big fans are definitely going back.

We sent our younger child (6y) there for a week last summer, and she didn't like it at all. (For comparison, she has really enjoyed several years at the Holton Arms Creative Summer and Beauvior Summer.)

Granted, she came late in the summer (August), when it can be hard to transition into a new program. But we found Norwood to be less nurturing and attentive with the younger kids.

For example, on the first day, a junior counselor dropped her off in the wrong room - in an art class for much older kids. My gut told me to check that she was in the right place, and I'm glad I did. When I walked by 5 minutes later, she was visibly crying while the counselor paid no attention. It was pretty obvious to me that she (a small kindergartener) was in the wrong place (with 10 year olds).

Many of the counselors seemed inexperienced and uncaring, IMO. We would not recommend the camp.

Anyone have feedback on Norwood camp in Bethesda? Am considering it for my 3-year-old. Thanks!
