Agree with Saigonese in Wheaton. They have a big vegetarian section of their menu. They are very child friendly. And they have the best Banh Mi for the non-vegetarians.

We love Mandalay in Silver Spring. Really good Burmese food and they set up a mat on the floor under the high chair, so they definitely know how to handle little ones. They will also make dishes with "no spice" as in very mild for your little one or as spicy as you like it...My one year old went nuts for their tofu. My four year old not so much, but she did eat some noodles...

also, re: woomi, they have a lot of meat dishes but they also have bbq mushroom and other items...

Woomi might be best. there's enough room that you're not on top of other guests, and there's a little fish pond inside that might interest the kids.

I think most places are kid friendly, but moreso if you go early when they're not as crowded.

It is NOT kid friendly. Soon Doo Boo is way, way to hot (temperature wise) for most people, especially kids. It literally boils in a stone pot at the table. If you have kids who want to touch everything, they could get a third degree burn from it. You can get a couple of appetizers, but really, your kid will mostly be eating rice.

You are far better off at a regular Korean restaurant, where the children can choose from basically a buffet of different kids of foods, including veggie dumplings, noodles, etc.

Thanks everyone. For the poster asking for what is kid friendly for us - we don't need kid menu. Just a place that would be ok with two one year olds sitting in high chairs and babbling. Neither is walking yet. We can go for either lunch or an early dinner if those times deemed better for people with kids. Please keep the recommendations coming.

What do you mean kid friendly? I've heard this as "they have kids menu and have booster/highchair seats" to "they didn't kick me out when my kid had a tantrum and started walking/running around."

Woomi gardens is fantastic but heavy on the meat options b/c it is Korean BBQ.

Hollywood East (in the Wheaton Mall) is Chinese and kid-friendly. Note: Hollywood East is one of my favorite restaurants for Dim Sum on weekend mornings. Paul Kees (on NB Georgia Ave about 1/2 block south of University) also Chinese and kid-friendly. Be aware, Paul Kees is slightly more authentic Chinese and hence has a lot of stuff that is only available on a Chinese-only menu. But it has a fairly extensive menu in English as well.

I haven't been recently, but I think Saigonese in the Wheaton Triangle (on Grandview) is pretty decent Vietnamese and it advertises as good for families with children.

Also Woo Mi Garden, which has mixed Korean and Japanese. Supposedly the Korean BBQ is fantastic here and the sushi is reasonable as well. I can't remember. I haven't been there in many years, but my best friend and his wife go there frequently and they love it. It's supposed to be rated as kid-friendly. Just north of the Wheaton Triangle.

Dusit Thai is pretty good Thai food. It's located on University just east of the triangle (about 1 block) and claims to be family friendly, but my recollection is that the place is small and the tables cramped and it may not be the best place for kids. But the food is pretty good.

We are planning out on going out with another couple, who also have a one year old child. We all like ethnic food (Indian/Thai/Vietnemese/Mid-Eastern), basically food with some bite. The other couple is vegetarian. So we need some place that will serve veg options. Prefer something other than Indian as they went to an Indian place last week. Any recommendations in Silver Spring/Wheaton/near-by or on the other side Baltimore? Thanks.
