74 Ford Gran Torino. And not a cool Starskey and Hutch one either. It had been my grandmother's. Awesome am radio out of one central dashboard speaker.

I've never owned a car. I'm 41 and a single mom. I'm American but grew up in Germany, then college in NY, then here. Never wanted one, never needed one.

wondering about this after reading the cars for teenagers thread. . .
My dad traded in his leBaron convertible a week before I got my license, so I took my driving test in and drove a full-sized Ford F-150 for a while. Then it was a Suburban (I grew up on a farm out west, my first vehicle was really a John Deere tractor).
