LOL sounds like me!

You also have a friend in this situation, or you also have two facebook accounts? Maybe we know the same person! Or, if it's the latter, maybe you could shed some light for me as to how/why she does it. I've been tempted to tell her DH, but opted to just stay out of it. I do care for her, I just couldn't be around the lies anymore.

OP, if you want to help your friend, leave the FB account out of it. Who knows why she has it? Lots of people I know have more than one account, and I don't really think it is my business to know why or judge them on what they do or don't post. What you can do is spend time with her and talk to her. Ask how things are going, etc. If she wants your help or support, she will tell you so. If not, then concentrate on just being supportive by being a nonjudgmental friend who is open to listening and support but respects her privacy and autonomy.

Can you explain how the fake account works? DO you make up a name and friend someone?

I don't know if you're trying to be malicious or if you're just dumb.

I'm not obsessing over anything. I'm just worried about my friend. She went through several losses last year in her family, she was diagnosed with a health condition so life has been tough on her for the past decade, not to mention last year.

I want to help her but I don't want to hurt her feelings. She's seeing a therapist buy not happy with it. I truly wish I could help her.

She went back to school after the break up and is about to graduate. He's deeply involved in the community doing charity work towards abused children and also in a few clubs in school. She's desperately trying to find a path. The problem is that she just can't let go of her past. She's serious self esteem problems. She keeps using this FB account to reinforce her POVs when talking about her projects or ideas, she uses that profile to give herself a lift when she posts sad, depressed messages on her profile. She uses the fake to comment on her pics... it's SAD!

This can't be healthy... How do I talk to her about this?

While that sounds a bit nutty, it's not as nutty as, say, obsessing over a friend's fake FB account.

I suspected and asked her. She denied in the beginning but later on told me the truth about it.

Sounds like Sarah Palin-- using a fake FB account to comment positively on the real one!

Are you sure? How do you know?

In any case, you say nothing about the FB account. Not relevant. If she's messed up and needs specific help or support, offer that.
