Oh yes and there was another article recently (I think in the WSJ) about how the private equity industry really doesn't like the idea of Romney being nominated because they don't want to draw attention to their activities...

This is a movie that the Gingrich campaign just purchased from some Republican freelance filmmaker. Looks like the sharks are now trying to have each other for lunch.
For anyone too young to remember this, "private equity" is a relatively new euphemism for what used to be called "leveraged buy-outs." I remember reading about them for the first time as a teen in a front-page story in the WSJ in the mid-80s about the takeover of Safeway by KKR--I was struck by the devastation that they portrayed among the ranks of the employees, including a poignant story about an employee who was so shocked at being laid off that he had a heart attack and died. Ah, but that was when I was young and naive and thought that people actually mattered....
